Through the creation of plans, programs and policies, the Planning and Zoning Department ensures the community’s vision for a bright future is realized. Land within the Township is divided into 27 zoning districts for various types of residential development, commercial, office, retail, corporate, planned. The department collaborates with staff in other departments, other units of government, elected officials, board members and community members, to implement these goals. In zoning districts other than residential, such fencingshall not be permitted, unless a request is made to Council and approved by amajority vote at a public Council meeting.
